Tanya Burr Lips and Nails: Review

I've been reading reviews and hearing great things about Tanya Burr's lip gloss and nail polish collection ever since it launched a few months back. Never mind how many reviews or photo swatches I saw, I'm still not a fan of buying beauty online. Then I heard that the range was going to be sold in a selected bunch of Superdrug stores, hooray!

At my first opportunity I made my way to my local Superdrug and scoured the beauty aisles for the elusive display, and couldn't find it anywhere. After feeling a little disappointed to say the least I decided to just pick up some essentials I was in need of, and then there, in the body care aisle, was a little stand, just taking up half a shelf, of Tanya Burr's Lips and Nails, it's a miracle I found it, it was nowhere near the other beauty shelves. Then, even worse, the shade I found I like the most, was out of stock, typical!

Then last week on Feel Unique they were having a 3 for 2 on Tanya Burr, so I decided to snap up a few products to try out. Delivery was super quick and I had my products before the weekend.

First of all, the packaging of the products is lovely. It looks really classic and simple, not at all tacky or cheap. I love the fact that the lipgloss comes in cardboard packaging, guaranteeing it's not been opened before, and the nail varnishes seem to have a click seal on them when you turn the lid for the first time.

The lipgloss I picked out was Afternoon Tea, it's a really pretty pink peach shade, pretty much inside my go to colour range. I was so excited about this gloss, I've seen so many beautiful swatches and good reviews. I did find myself a little disappointed, the gloss is so pigmented it's amazing, it gives a lovely shine to the lips but I found that it seemed to clump up on my lips, and sank in to all my dry patches, it didn't look attractive. I'm not too sure if I had too much on, or whether I just need to make sure I exfoliate my lips vigorously before I give it another go, I'm not one to give up easily though, so I'll be trying it again soon!

Then I dropped two nail polishes in my online basket, Peaches & Cream, a really lovely nude peach shade, and Bright and Early, a more summer pink! Can you sense that there was a colour theme running throughout this online shopping spree? I gave peaches and cream a go, and it's a really lovely polish. The formula's nice, it takes around 2 to 3 coats to get full opacity, and with a top coat it has a lovely shine. It did chip after a few days, but it was really easy to re-apply and didn't look gloopy or messy. I'll be trying out Bright and Early in the not so distant future!

Overall, I'm quite impressed with the range, I'd definitely treat myself to more products, it just depends on which colour palette I'm going for next, I've pretty much stashed all the pinks and peaches haven't I?

Have you given any Tanya Burr products a try?
