I think it's best to start this post by telling you, I have terribly dark circles. People would get lost in my under eye baggies they're that dark. I put it down to early mornings, staring at computer screens for most of my time, and maybe (make that definitely) a few too many times forgetting to apply my eye cream and remove all my make up.
It's been really difficult to find the perfect products when it comes to covering up the dark circles under my eyes, but I think I finally have them.
Last year I delved into the world of Bobbi Brown, it was around about the time that the Bobbi Brown Corrector was doing the rounds in the blogsphere. I got myself colour matched and went home with Extra Light Bisque, which has a pink undertone, which cancels out the purple tones of dark circles and sits nicely on my neutral/yellow skin tone. I have to give it the same verdict as a lot of other bloggers have, it is incredible. Using this product under my eyes completely cancels out my dark circles, they disappear as if I've slept for 100 years. The one thing I would say is that the product isn't as creamy as I thought it would be, to me it seems a little sticky, but warmed up in-between fingers really helps it to blend out. Due to it being a little drier than I thought it does separate throughout the day, and didn't really sit in place perfectly for a prolonged amount of time. Still, I used up my first little pot, and then I found perfect product number two.
Getting everyone excited was the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer, I skipped to Space NK and got colour matched to Vanilla. It's my perfect concealer. The end. In all seriousness, it's creamy, it blends amazingly, the shade is perfect for me, it's slightly yellow/neutral toned, and it leaves my under eyes looking moisturised and a little less dark than before. I find that with this shade I can even use it over my blemishes, it gives a really lovely amount of coverage, and helps make my complexion look a little more even, on a good skin day I just use this concealer and a little powder. Even with it's great coverage, my under eyes were still a little too dark for me.
As you might be aware from my Beauty Wish List post, I was running extremely low on the NARS concealer, and it hadn't been in stock for months, but after a lovely reader let me know it was back in stock on Space NK, it was my next virtual stop (thanks Jessica!). So I picked it up in store last Tuesday, and on my way back to the office I decided to pop in and pick up another Bobbi Brown Corrector. Since then, it's the only two things I've been using to conceal my baggies and my blemishes. The creamy formula of the NARS concealer helps with the drier texture of the corrector, and the extra coverage in the corrector helps the overall coverage with the concealer. They're perfect partners, and I couldn't not let you all know!
Lily has always mentioned how she loves the Soap and Glory Kick Ass concealer kit, so I might pick that up and see how it compares.
Do you have any dark circle saviours? I'm always open to suggestions, cause these bad boys are going nowhere fast!
Yay! I'm so glad you managed to get some! :) Is Bobbi Brown a brand definitely worth trying? I've been umming and ahing over it for a while x
