Luxury Lips

Not to get too 'oh woe is me' but I've had a pretty hectic few months recently, and the end is in sight. So to treat myself, I decided to make a purchase I've been eyeing up for well over 12 months already.

I'm hoping that you'll know by now, I'm not one to make a 'big' beauty purchase on impulse alone. A huge amount of research goes in to the product (mainly via blogs and youtube reviews, obviously), to see if it'll be worth it, and then I'll end up with product in hand a few times before putting it back down and thinking 'no, you don't need it'. Needless to say, the latter happened to me quite a few times with this product before I actually took it home. All mine. Finally.

I love pink/nude lip colours, especially in Spring, so the YSL Rouge Volupte in Shade 1 fits in to that category perfectly. I've had counter make up artists try this on me so many times, and the colour is just so lovely, not too pink, not too beige, not too peach. I really find that even after a while wearing it throughout the day, it still leaves a really lovely colour on the lips. The formulation is so creamy and smooth, and it doesn't catch on any dry areas of my lips. The one big test was if the product gathered on the inside of my lips (which seems to be a big problem for me), and I'm pleased to report, no gloopy gatherings appeared, hurray!

Also, can we just stop for a second and marvel at the gorgeous, luxurious golden packaging? So. Beautiful. I think it may be the most beautiful looking product I own, definitely a make up table occupant.

I purchased mine in the House of Fraser 10% off event for £22.50, but the usual cost of this piece of lip heaven is £25. I must admit I try not to think too hard on how much it costs. For a once in a while treat, I think it's justified. So all in all I would say, if you're in need of a pick me up, then take a look at the Rouge Volupte lipsticks, they're beautiful.

Do you own any luxurious lip products, or have any favourites? Maybe you know of some more affordable dupes? Let me know down below...
